when you first walk in to like a denny's or other restaurants down south, they have those little coupon/trip planner books. I need one for south florida/the keys. we'll be going down (hopefully) for spring break and all I can find on line are the "resorts" that the beautiful people stay in. all I need is a cheap motel. we'll only be in the keys for two or so nights and there's no way in hell i'm paying $289. a night for a bed and a toilet.
if any you guys are down that way and wanna grab me one of those books i'd really appreciate it. and if you wanna drop it in the mail, man, that would be just tits. thanks in advance.

no deals in fl during spring break, but it sounds like your looking for a chain hotel. most of the chain motels stop at florida city, but i'd try the different websites for days inn, hampton inn, red roof inn, etc. if you have a retired military connection, at one time key west nas had some relatively cheap rooms available.
might also try the vrbo.com website or craigs list.

nah phat, i'm looking for a little sh!thole that has a bed and a toilet. hell, I don't give a rats a$$ if they have bugs. don't even need a television. a place to lay my head and a place to squat my a$$. the cheaper the better.

check with the fish camps, Bud and Mary's had something like that. we rented a house but we were there for the week. If it were me, I'd check into the camp grounds and tent it. My wife couldn't live with out air conditioning and internet, but if your family were up for it, there's plenty of places to camp

I actually thought about that spare, but i'm the one here who cant live without a/c. if it werent for fishing I could take 45 degrees all year round.

probably have a better chance at a room than a campground. during spring break, your competing with college kids. they are looking for super cheap also.
cheapest rooms i ever got down there were in marathon. there is a place on the north end called "Boatels" and they had some barge type houseboats with 4 or 6 rooms on each. there was a common bathroom for each barge.

CTT,

Call Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge 305-872-2351.

They have rooms and apartments at reasonable rates. Nice clean family place with daily family activities.

Call soon cause they only have a few rooms as it is mostly a campground and they fill up fast.

No website either.
