The dusky is probably lighter, but I'd bet ridge's 250 xs is making more power than the v-rod, There's s not more weight on the v-rod also

I am stern heavy but I don't look like that until I have 9 people on board. LOL Two, 2.4L Bridgeports weight about the same as a Verado. Put them on the transom and you would certainly have a 70 + mph boat.
Over on CSC a guy had a 300 Verado on a 20' center console.
I bet they both have their issues due to the overly weighted stern. Corky on the hook too I would guess. Can you say Snap Roll.
That swim platform looks deformed and out of place until you put the boat in the water.

No compass reliant on magnetics is ever going to work atop that console with all those speakers, shielded or not. Wicked amounts of money went into the details on that rig. It would make a fine machine still with a little less weight hung back there. IMO the bracket was mounted too high for the floatation to be fully effective. It has to be displacing water to float not hanging out above the water.
I thought I was nuts.

Now now Ridge, keep your chin up buddy....don't worry, we all still think you're nuts.

Man that rear shot on the trailer....motor looks bigger than the boat! WOW!

Use the picture of this dusky as reference for engine height. It appears to be a 25" engine that's mounted on its highest mounting hole on that bracket, with the bracket mounted that high. It could probably run well at an even higher setting but he's run out of room. With what appears to around 30" set back, I'd guess the propshaft is about even with the bottom of that boat. He really needs a 20" motor on that boat.

Pretty sure that's a 30" shaft engine. The shortest shaft you can get one in is a 25", and you can see the 5" spacer in it so it's got to be a 30". Also you can see the transom wedges he has between it and the bracket to be able to trim it in more. By the looks of it he has the bracket in the correct location for a 30" shaft engine as you can see the bracket goes almost all the way up to the transom cap. That boat needs about 300 pounds less weight in the stern, and an ARMSTRONG high flotation bracket on it.

Yep, your right. I'd removed that spacer and replaced/shortened that shaft. It can't help have that much weight that high up

That is an accident waiting to happen, boats sitting like that are very dangerous. Almost an instant swamp with a decent wave or wake hitting it wrong.
If I bought that boat I would sell that Verado and power that sweet hull with a nice 150-175 and laugh all the way to the bank.

Doesn't seem to sit too low in the water.....

First thing to do - get that 275 off and rig a 300.......

To hell with 300. Rig up the 350 SCI Verado.

Straight to Hell with that idea too..........let's go for the 7 Marine 557 hp outboard.
Now we're talking fast.

I don't know why anyone wouldn't want quad 9.9 hp tiller steer powerplants on that beauty???? Think about the reliability and fuel economy! DUH!!
