I think they test them for something like 3-6 psi when they build them.

Is there a way for me to test it myself.

My quick reply would be for you to get a radiator pressure tester and make some adaptors.

it is 3 - 6 psi, just plug all the outlets (leave the float assy. attached) except for the vent, put a fitting of some sort to that and attach to your air line with a low pressure regulator attached, adjust to the desired pressure(careful doesn't take much so use a low pressure regulator ) spray with a soap & water mix look for bubbles
