Bought a 1990 Wellcraft sportsman 25' about a year ago as a project boat. The previous owner parked the boat in his back yard and suffered a stroke a couple of weeks later. Needless to say the boat sat idle in his back yard for more than 3 years. The I/O mercury 5.7 with a alpha one was trashed and had to be removed. The transom was rotten and all of the floor and stringers had to be replaced. I decided to restore the sportsman as a project and post the progress on this site for any comments and experience that may be offered.
I started with the transom, and I will start posting pictures very soon. If any one has a sportsman and can offer any help it would be appreciated.

This hull would make a sick center console conversion!!! Look at the picture with hull on the trailer with no top cap!! She would be sweet.
Nice project by the way. Keep it going.

I agree. I don't think they have much dead rise. Though. It would make a nice starting point for a enclosed pilot house as well!
