NJ Deer Bow in Sept. Muzzle Loader in November and Shotgun in Dec.
I'll be hunting Grouse in NY State in Oct. Bow in NJ and NY and Rifle season in Michigan on my families property Nov 15th. Maybe some Grouse there too if I can get there early enough.
Couple of Brittany's planning on it.
Two best steaks roasts and tenderloins in the world from those two critters you are going for, good luck.
I still hunted my 6x6 Bull in Montana with my Longbow, great meat for the family.

I used to use a custom ( John Tangradi ) long bow he made for me back in 1983 , 65# draw also have had many recurves. but a few rears ago my rotator cuff tore , now I use a MATHEWS DRENALIN 55# and when that is to much on cold day's I have a BOWTEC 380 crossbow. I still miss the traditional bows I used for all those years , I took a lot of game with them and I still make all my own arrows and bolts

I got the same issue with the rotator cuff got hit from behind in hockey eh! That keep me from goin down the traditional path with bows. Post a pic of it if you don't mind I would like to have a look. I just picked up some luminocks 35$ for 3 of them WTF! They do look cool flying to the target and should help me find them when I get a pass through.

I will go thru my old htn. photos , I dont like LUMINOCKS !! I have sold them at the archery shop I used to manage and people wernt happy with them , hard to tune , iratic flight . and poor batty. life, I prefer FIRE NOCKS . I have usede them on alum. , carbon and XBOw shafts , but of all the tech. stuff out there , I prefer a 6 " white dip with 2 white feathers (or vanes) and 1 green feather ,and a white nock or xbow nock, great visability and nothing MORE ! Just what I prefer and have used for 46 years . I have been to the ATA shows several times over the years and it is just crazy !! every year some one thinks they have the greatest thing since flint. I dont use SCENT LOCK or any of that high priced $hit made to make a great hunter out of a city slicker $$$$$, I use natural things and stuff my grandfather and dad taught me , and guess what ? My freezer is full every winter !!

I looked in my freezer last night and saw that I only have about 4 pounds of venison left. Funny to see this thread today. I will hunt NH & MA with my Hoyt Spyder 34. I have a 32" draw length & the Spyder 34 is one of the only bows that can accomidate that. It is tough having arms like an Orangutang.

Thanks for the tip pretty funny I do have some camo mostly given to me. I use cow in heat piss for elk just becouse I get pretty close some times but for the most part I use the wind and the lay of the land. Then sneek up in to there bed room and night night. Kind of no frills hunting but very sucessfull!

I am from the deep south. Down here we simply train our pet gators to catch our deer. The dogs catch the squirrel and possum and if the fish are biting, or scallop season is in, well thats the preverbial buffet working right there.

Who knew the Wellcraft crowd were such outdoorsmen?

Willy-nothing beats a good bird hunt IMO. Watching the dogs work, you know you'd be damn lucky to scratch up a bird or two without them. I don't care if it is Bob White from a pen or Ringnecks in HI. On the wing does it for me.

Where on the body did you hit?

I hit the front shoulder blade at 15 yards with a 100 Gr rage broad head. I called her in from over 300 yards. The arrow only penatrated 6-8" and wack she took two steps and it fell out. She then ran out into the field and watched me for 15 min then ran across the river and into the bedding areas.
Makes me sick!! Worst of all I had my boy with me and he thinks I can't shoot good now.:nut:

Well it sucks that you hit the sholder blade but at least you know that is all that happened. She will be sore for a little while but won't have any lasting effects from the hit.
You will make the next shot and your little guy will think you are fantastic again. That is the great thing about kids.
