I want to make a service switch, I guess that's what it called, 3 ft or so and plugs into the red plug on the motor to crank close to the motor. It there an easy way? I know I would need the plug end from the control box and a switch, anything else other than a box to house it?

Just unplug the harness and temporarily jump the big terminals on the solenoid.
This does nothing for the choke, you need to manually do it and you can't shut the engine off till you choke it down or starve it for fuel or plug the harness back together.

on an outboard, red to yellow with red stripe spins motor over, red to purple is ignition on if it has a computer or if its an I/O/inboard, black to black with yellow stripe shuts the engine off its not computer controlled(like a lawn mower, you have to ground the ignition to stop it)
