My first boat was a 12 foot Sears Gamefisher with a 6 hp Johnson, use to fish every where in that thing!! All saltwater for stripers and stuff use to have a blast!! If I ever get another boat I will be going back that way, no more big boats, I would love a nice 14 or 16 foot tin boat to get back to some of my close spots!! Good Luck

MJ, Gamefisher was a little plastic like tri-hull wasn't it? My parents had the Montgomery Wards brand, SeaKing, it was a semi-V. Fond memories, I still recall scooting under the front bench seat to get a nap as a young child. I have seen my parents pull 100+ crappie and panfish on many occasions from the livewell of that boat. Even the fishing tackle was simplified back when. We had about 4 fishing rigs to our name, Zebco 33's and one Mitchell 300,(Mom's bass fishing rig) Didn't need anything fancy, couldn't afford it if we wanted it. A certain fun factor comes built-in with a simple rig IMO. I like my little boat as much as the Wellcraft, $/trip is a whole lot better. Nice score.

They also sold aluminum hulls under the Gamefisher name.

Great find, at a fantastic price. You done good. Love the little boats on a lake or slow river...some of the most fun from fishing comes from that setup.

I have a 12 foot plastic (not fiberglass) gamefisher with a deep v hull, not a tri hull. Great little boat, storage built in under the seats, etc. Only thing I don't like is it actually has a small drain plug in the stern. Would have been much better without that hole in the back. Boat that size you bail with a coffee can... no need for a drain plug to get lost...especially an odd sized one that's hard to come by in the first place.. Still, it's a great little boat. I have a 7 1/2 hp Gamefisher outboard on it. Great for lakes and rivers around here.

I clean'd it out today (it had small trees growing in it ) filled it with water for 3 hrs. no leeks so that is a good sign . The old seat's with swivels work good just need a good clening . I am going to power wash it . and put some aluminum primer on it . some paint and I will be shad and striper fishing on the CT. river by late APRIL , then the V20 will take over !!
I love these old tin boats I have had so many of them since I was a kid fromm 8' to 22' they never let me down. This one reninds me of one my Father had when I was young , a lot of good memories there

Love it....I bought an old fiberglass skiff that had trees growing in it. That just means it don't leak. :fam:
