Ok, I have some time this summer to get the V back in shape.
I will probably redo the transom and put in a new gas tank.
When I parked her approx 3 years ago there was a full tank of gas, question is, any suggestions as to what to do with that gas?

I use it for lawnmower gas, but during the summer I go through about 10 gallons a week so it gets used up pretty quick.

Yup... Completely agree....been powering chain saws, string trimmers, lawn mowers, garden tractors, and cars with older gas for a long, long time. I just don't use it in my outboards since there is always the chance that the lower octane might hurt something and out in the ocean that's the last thing you want to do.
As long as it hasn't turned to shelac (you know it has when you smell that old gas smell) it's safe to burn in most any small engine. If it has, put it in containers and bring it to your nearest haz mat recycling center. DO NOT pour in into the ground.

what shape was the gas in 3 years ago? if it was non e and treated with stabil, then blend it with new and run as suggested. if it was ethanol blend and untreated, i'd be trying to find another way to get rid of it.
