I have caught them most all my life in throw nets and shrimp nets and have never eatten any...I will the next time a catch some though for sure.
But I have converted a bunch of them into fish dinners.

Good eats!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give us a play by play on catching them, we have pretty squid here but I don't have a concrete method of catching yet.

Easy!! Up here we just use a squid jig, get into the school anmd drop in then jig up hard till you snag them, thats it!
There are a few people I know that bait them with small shiners or other stuff but in the run you need nothing.
Its a messy job they spray water ink and crap all over the place, I use throw away clothes when I go!!

these are some homemade jigs and an old fly rod i rigged up. we ride around the marina and look under the lights until we see them, then toss the jigs in and dance it around. some times they are very aggressive and attack it, other times very timid and barely swip at it. when they impale themselves on the barbless hooks you just lift them up and plop in a bucket. if you stop lifting while in the water, they get off. one of the best rigs to use is a bream buster pole. lotta fun
