I have been watching this fourm since last week when a buddy turned me on to it , I just got aproved to be able to post replys and start posts. Any way I just picked up a 1984 V20 cuddy in great shape with a mint 1995 YAMAHA 150 with a sweet galvanized roller trailer. I have been rebuilding aluminum boats for 30 some years now , any were from 14' to 24' and made some good $$$ re selling them pluss some great fishing wile I had them. But I have discoverd that they are to rocky and unstable for the type of inshore & offshore striper fishing I love. My new WELLCRAFT V20 should prove to be a great adition to my smaller tinn boats , I will have many questions for you experts , she needs some minor work , such as new rod lockers , cabin door , transom batty. acess. door , but transom and hull are in great shape. Any way I hope to have an educational and fun time near . again HELLOW:nice:

Wellcome to the forum!!! Here's a wood to starboard conversion idea for them doors. Starboard is a little pricey but its good stuff.

welcome, and rkc and awthacker are right about the '82 & '84 being the best, but only because they are a copy of an '83

Welcome, you will find what you need here. Plus make a few friends. Watch out for those fellows from Chussetts. They tend to get cantankerous during the winter.

GO PATS !! I will try to post some pics , I wanted to start working on her with my fishing partner today but she is coverd with snow and ice & the temp is a bitter 23deg. with a cold wind , so I will wait till tomorow it is going to be warmer, I want to get the battys. out and inside , get any water out of the hull and and make a nice cover with easy access for working on warmer days. any sugestions on making a cover?? all my other boats were stored in a heated barn but it was destroyed this summer by a fire  I have been spoiled for many years with that barn . I will miss it.
any way have made a too do list and cant wait to get going on it. any help with finding rod lockers , enclosed bimini tops would be great thanks again for the welcome.

That's a great looking boat! Since your rod boxes are rectangular, you should have no problem replacing them. Mine were odd-shaped so I chose to repair them. Do a search here for rod boxes and you will find an old thread with some websites selling them.

I'm in Leicester, looks like you are now the closest member to me.

Unfortunately the places I usually launch are Gloucester, Boston Harbor, Marshfield/Plymouth or Buzzrds Bay.

Yea Monkey Butler we arnt far apart, I have done a little striper fishing around Gloucester & Boston Harbor but not on my boat , my friend in LOWEL Knows those areas well so I go on his 28' SEA RAY, I would love to learn those areas and use my boat. I have also fished the ditch a few times but it was pretty hairy in a 18' aluminum boat.
