Pretty much a bada$$ flats boat, can go outside on a good day. Popular around here, built just a little north in Ft Pierce florida, across from th Pursuit factory, see lots in the river with 150's and even 200's

Maverick, Hewes and Pathfinder are the same company, great boats. I'd go with a smaller motor to keep the weight (draft) down. I guess it depends if you will be fishing real skinny water. When I lived in FL I was looking at the Maverick 17 HPX Tunnel hull, that has a max HP rating of 70hp, I think. The 17 HPX-V non tunnel is 115hp.

edit: just checked Maverick's site and max hp for the new 18 MA is 175hp.

I'd run the other way. Metal wrapped around the transom. Transom might be waisted.

...am I missing something? Do you mean the metal cap on the transom?

Hey, look at that, the cushion stayed on during the storm! Must be a quality boat to have no major damage (and kept the cushion). 8)

I'd stay with the Short shaft V4 140 to save on weight over a V6 150. The 140 with Boysen Reeds will give you around 150+ HP out of a V4.

yeah skools, thats good advice. i got this short shaft 150 that truly is a hause (pushes 18.5 foot bayliner walk thrue 58.6 mph, no bs!) a bud of mine built it last summer. real low hours on rebuild. and a good trailer just sitting in the back yard. thinkin a flats boat might be a nice toy to have come fall. i have looked at the boat. thiers not but a scratch or two. i think she was tied to a pier on one of the inland rivers and just got swallowed. bud of mine at DMR will get me the owners name and we will find out more. tx
