I forgot to connect the hose to the filler neck when doing my resto. I noticed the sound of dripping from my transom drain, it was blue..

I immediately knew what had happened. At least it was cheap oil...

When they disconnected my oil line to remove my engine for my transom job my ENTIRELY FULL oil tank filled with $45 a gallon evinrude XD 100 oil siphoned into my bilge.

Hehe, dont feel tooooo bad...........I just pumped 5 quarts into the boat......yep, got to remember to put that oil filter back on:head:

Yeah, everyone has made a mistake or two here or there. It sucked because I just went to town to buy the oil, come home and waste it.

At least I didn't leave the fuel hose off and re-fueled!

As I was cleaning up after working on my engine, I noticed that the oil tank on the top of my 1991 Mercury 200 hp engine was low on oil, so I filled it. Not realizing that the hose leading from the oil tank to the to the engine was cracked.. Put the cowl on, wrapped up for the evening...came back a few days later and noticed oil running down the mid-section of the engine. Took the cowl off and the entire lower pan of the cowling was covered with oil. Total mess. At least I didn't try running the engine...:head:
