Rob I think yer right...taken care of and some upgrades as well...notably the SS thru-hull fittings and fairly new trailer...looks like the bottom has been painted...would like to know if that is due to repair or upgrade...if somebody's lookin' for a turn-key CC this could be it...Kudos to the owner...

Welcome to the site.
Whenever a boat is listed it is going to be up for scrutiny of the members of the site. Don't take it personal, it isn't even your boat. "Throttle is smooth as silk" I hear you, how does the shift shaft look? Those motors are know for major corrosion and shift shaft issues. Phat never said this particular motor had that problem. He said "Could be a deal breaker." It was speculation that you cleared up in a real hurry.
Obviously we can and will comment on the boat without driving to see it in person. That is what pictures are all about and that is how free listings on boat forums go. So before you slam another longstanding member, like on your third or fourth post, please consider that we are not out to get you or ridicule your friends boat, we are just poking around, commenting and starting some dialogue.

I have a 1983 that was not kept-up and was literally given to me due to the work it would take to make it operational.
This, on the other hand, is clearly a very well kept rig.

Reel, I don't see bottom paint?? Looks like gel to me. If it is painted they did a remarkable job.

Maybe you could clear up if the bottom is gel or paint?

Good Luck on the Sale!

dill, sorry you took it personal.
if your friends yammie has the updated shift shaft coupler, it would be wise to post it in the ad & if it doesn't , it might be a deal breaker for a knowledgeable buyer(like the one's who hang out on this forum to whom you directed the ad).
i believe that's the first time i have ever used "whom" in a post, gotta keep you guys grammaticly on your toes.
ridge, thanks for explaining me better than i can.
