Dont know what happened with the pics! Anyway I added some steps that I picked up last year and rebuilt. I added new windshield supports and captains chairs and my wife got me a new Hummingbird 728 for Christmas. Also replaced the starter and alternator with brand new ones , tired of messing around with rebuilt stuff. I think Im ready for spring!! Took my cover off today and my wife washed it for me. I let it dry, washed the V and put it back on, smells better now! :sun:

Good looking boat you got there. Amongst other things, your swim platform looks much better than mine. The bracket looks original, is the woodwork on the platform as well?

Nice improvements all!!...the new stuff's great, but looks like you had a nice setup in the works all along!!...CLEAN boat!!...
When you said you too the cover off the boat and the wife washed it..I thought you meant she washed THE BOAT!!...I asked my wife why SHE never did that...and this is like the response I got...:bat:...

Thanks guys! Theres still a few things on the wish list, like a new full enclosure. I got the steps off of a 19ft Wellcraft Classic that I also bought a spare 3.7 motor and transom assembly out of. They were in fair shape, just sanded, reglued and rubbed down with teak oil. My wife bought the cover for me for fathers day in 09. It came from Walmart and I think it was for a 21ft deep V.Ill try to find the box and get alittle more information on it. It has held up great and fits well. I hope to take it out tomorrow, supposed to be high 70's here and sunny. I cant wait!

Great looking V you got there, I've looked through your gallery photos many times since I got my '78 back in Nov. I was wondering what you have as far as your bilge/pump set up ? I too have the 470.

I want ta say the bilge pump is a RULE, and is mounted to the hull bottom directly below the oil pan, right under #2 cylinder. Ive never needed it but I run a little water in the anchor chain locker and flush the bilge. I let it pump it back out to make sure it still works.

Thanks for the info C, trying to decide which route to go. Two bilge pumps, scuppers or both. I have not had my boat in the water yet and it will be a while yet so I don't know exactly where the water line is. Is water line low enough on your boat for scuppers to work well?

I have used several of those Walmart boat covers over the years on my smaller boats (the V came with a super nice cover). The best thing about them is the 2 year warranty, they last about 22 months so you only have to buy once.

I have both scuppers and 4 pumps totaling 3200 gph! Scuppers take care of above floor, pumps below floor.
