Been watching this V float around on the Southern MD CL page for quite some time now. Does anyone here have any knowledge of this particular boat?

Seems like it may be a descent buy if it just needs a starter.
Thanks.

Hey Brian , I haven't seen the boat but I have seen the CL ad for a long time. Was even posted on here I believe. Did you sell the Formula?

I could have sworn I've seen it here before, but who knows.
Yeah, the Formula is gone. :-( My wife wasn't keen on having two completely broken boats at the house. I guess I should update my sig.

I tried to convince her that a CC would make a good "family boat". That didn't go over so well... ;-)
A 200 Yammy would be nice on that V though. I even have a brand new Armstrong bracket sitting in the basement. That was left over from the Formula project.

I'm thinking I may go and take a look.
Other than the standard things to look out for in a hull of this age (transom, stringers, floor, fuel tank), standard I/O things (riser/manifold and drive bellows) and things specific to the 470 (3" or 4" heat exchanger, charging system, water pump) is there anything I should be on the lookout for?
Thanks.

If Owner doesn't have hot battery, take one...check out the Trim & Tilt...that can be a real showstopper and big bucks on some drives(Volvo?)

Seems to be a non-issue. The owner didn't respond to either of my last two emails or the voicemail I left for him last weekend...

Ha...been there, said that. :-)
It's a shame because I never seem to be able to find reasonably priced rigs close to home that have the wife's approval... :-/

Hey bro,
I am the one selling the boat. I am sorry that I havent been getting any of your calls but I am in the Navy and I have been out of town. But if you are still interested in the boat we can set something up for you to come out and check it out. Just like the ad states the starter is off right now and just needs a new one. I was thinking about putting the alternator conversion kit on it also. 2000 cash and it is yours. Let me know. I just dont have the time right now get it back running since I am out all the time.
Thanks,
Paul

No worries Paul. I'm looking at a Mako 228 right now. If that falls through, I may want to come take a look.
BTW - Thanks for your service!
