Keepit...is yours the model w/the round baitwell in the floor back toward the splashwell?...I've never had one of those personally, but several members who do have added a portable tank like Phat refers to and use the infloor well for storage...it wasn't one of Wellcraft's better designs...

Phat, what kind of pump? and why the pvc below the pump? what keeps bait alive while running if pump is off?

When moving, the PVC pipe catches water and forces it into the well, no need for the pump to be on and it keeps a steady flow of fresh water through the tank.

what rmb said
it is an atwood 500 gph that they no longer make. works great, but the pumps tend to only last about 3 or 4 years because they are under water so much. at one time you could get them all day long at wal mart for 19.95 after they were discontinued, i located some on the web and ordered 3 replacements. only got 1 left

well here is a picture of the setup that i have on the V20 i bought. I was concerned about the pump's placement, therefore the question about the PVC. Is the pvc pipe below the bottom slightly to pick up the flow of water off the bottom of the boat>?? I want to change it out before we go out for our first run. I was told it worked they way they had it set up, just looks a little cloogy.

should work at rest ok, not sure about running. the pump i have has a threaded nipple on the intake. i put it on a pvc 45 to "scoop" the water while running. there is about 1/3 of the 45 below the transom . i thought rule made a scoop bracket that you could mount and use those pumps

Thanks Phatdaddy. I am going to make some adjustments. As soon as i saw your setup I liked it. I'll be working on it this weekend.
Hey Keepitgreen, sorry I hijacked your thread, but that livewell setup had been bothering me. let me know how yours turns out.
