After postponements, lots of tests, preparation and a great deal of pain, I'm finally going in for my knee surgery today. Getting a Total Knee Arthroplasty (Total Knee Replacement). It's been a tough year for me. I had some other medical issues to deal with early in the summer that prevented my from going to Jersey to meet you you guys earlier this year. Then my knee had been getting progressively worse for a while. By the time August came, I just could not walk on it any longer. There were days when I could barely stand. After seeing the orthopedic doc, he said the only choice was a total replacement. There was nothing left to repair in my left knee. I've been out of work on disability since the beginning of August and believe me, it's been a long and painful wait. If I could have fished or done something all this time, that would have helped. But no go.
I'm so looking forward to getting this done and over with and hopefully a better next year.
I'll check back in a few days and let youz know how everything went (I'll be in the hosp for 3-4 days).
Willy; I'm passing the bat off to you to keep the windtalker in check. :bat: It's a much easier job these days. He doesn't log on as much and he's about half the size of his former self. A stiff breeze will knock him down, so even if you miss him with the bat, the breeze generated by the swing will derail him. :hi:
That's all gents. Carry on. :hi:
Best of luck to you Chum..:sun:

Don't burst my bubble fellas. There's no way you'll convince me that the little fillie that just left my room was any resemblence to Mr. Krinkle.
That was 100% wet material.

Now comes the fun part - therapy.
So far I have been lucky and the docs could just go into my knees and scrape away the arthritis and junk, but I am sure that I will probably need replacement, hopefully not until I get to be your age.

It's good to be home. Just sat down a few minutes ago. Feels good to be in familiar surroundings. I shared a room with a guy that didn't smell to good. He was using the commode instead of the bathroom and every day when they asked him if he wanted to wash or brush his teeth, he said no. he made the girls clean his azz with a wet towel every time and then rub lotion on it.:oh:
He talked to himself all night long too. :bat:

One snowy night many moons ago I snapped my femur like a matchstick...lotta beer, deep snow, truck inner-tube, long rope and jeep...bad combination...couple of weeks of traction, surgery, then PT...my therapist was actually a pretty good lookin' brunett...1st session. she's BENDIN' my leg at the knee and IT DON'T WANNA BEND but she's bendin' it anyway applying her body weight in a downward fashion...between her and gravity, I'm reachin a pain level usually confined to the dungeons of medievil castles, BUSTIN' a sweat and leavin fingerprints embossed into the vinyl pad I'm sittin on and I'm like, oh baby, yer KILLIN' me here..stop, stop, no harder, harder...and then thru the worst of it, I blurted out; Will you marry me so we can do this EVERY NIGHT!!...we got tickled and started laughin...eveybody around, PTs and other patients ROF...she and I dated for a while, but it didn't last...thankfully cuz that lady just loved inflicting heavy doses of pure PAIN...:nut:
