How is the Striper fishing in the Albemarle Sound? Looks like a short run out for you. If all works the way I am hoping, I will be keeping the V and maybe we could get some fishing in sometime.

The boys caught some nice stripers this weekend in Albermarle Sound. I was in Baltimore MD looking at trawlers.
It's almost a straight run of about 15 minutes.
We need to hook up and get CFelton to join us he doesn't live to far away and we've claiming to get together and fish.

Hey Lee, Ive been hearing about the stripers in the sound but havent had time ta get out there. My buddy told me you could walk across the boats at the 32 bridge the other day. Start back on days tomorrow and got an outage coming up starting Oct 30. I gotta work twelve, 12 hour days in a row. My fish finder craped out the other day, so the extra money will come in handy.

Hey C I've mainly had hummingbirds and I like them. I have a Furuno now and I love it but it's not color.
We need to hook up with Hedge and any other VA boys and hit the stripers in the sound and then go to Oregon Inlet.
I have a feeling they are going to be plentiful this year.
C, Kracker Jack & Hedge I can go in Nov probably only on the weekend now. Busy as hell.

My plan is this Saturday to try and get the hydraulic cylinders off and get them to a good hydraulic supply shop to be repaired. I'm not gonna miss a ocean season.

Or you could leave yours home and go with us. More boats are usually
More productive unless you have a good experienced
guide AHEM COUGH COUGH!!:hi:

You could just leave your boat and stop by and pick me and my boat up since it is right on the the way. I have got to get this thing in the water.

Should we try to nail down a weekend?

We'll be going too. Typically we have 2 - 3 boats in our posse.
I think we should watch the weather and reports. The bite has been anything but predictable the past 2 seasons (for us anyway).
Haven't been to Oregon Inlet in 2 years but when we used to go there we had good luck from mid to late December until late January. A few trips around my birthday (1/11) and those were always good. But like I said, hard to predict the past couple years.
One thing is for certain - this ol' boy has all but forgotten what striper tastes like. So sad......

One other thing, with the black sea bass closure being south of Cape Hatteras light, I was thinking it would be cool to get an early limit of striper and then do some nearshore bottom dropping for the BSB and triggers or whatever else comes over the rail.
