After putting a lot of hours on the boat this season and feeling the chill in the air this morning (41 degrees at the jersey shore at 6:15 yuck) I started thinking about the offseason which will begin during Christmas week (yes, I will be one of the nuts in the water until the first snow fall). One of the things I would like to change this year is the seating on the passenger side. I have seen pictures of V21's with back to back seats on that side but I don't want to lose access to the baitwell/fishbox on the passenger side. The boys used to want nothing but the cuddy, they'd go in there and nap and then wake up when we got to the fishing spot, now they want to be outside and having one on the passenger side and one behind me on the captain's seat whilst I am standing and driving....lets just say its not the preferred setup. Ideas on how to get a back to back on that side? Is there a slider mount that is able to be purchased or?????

You could bolt down the front of the back to back.......and leave the rear facing seat
loose. Then it can hing up to put fish in the box.

To hold that rear facing seat in place, you can use hook to eye style holders, that hold it firm in place, but just lift and allow the seat to lift freely.

Is there room to mount a folding bass boat seat on the lid of the fishbox and there still be room to open the box?

Or just use one of the folding aluminum/stainless chairs and sit it between the seats.

I have the seats you are looking for in my V-21. When I get home in a few days I will find the details on it the for you. They fold down to a 45 Deg angle and have access to the fish box.

What if you leave the passenger side as is and put a jump-seat on the cooler lid behind the capt's seat...

Thanks for the replies guys. I would really like to figure out the back to back seat set up. Putting a jump seat on the lids is going to limit the usability of the boxes. The one behind the captains seat is my storage for my huge containers of gulp and drop lines for crabbing. the passengers side is the livewell for crabs/fish. pics of the original setup would be great.

Oz- got the package yesterday. I will work on pulling off the rod holders this weekend and get them out to ya!

I have back to back seats on my V21 and I am able to access the storage. Here's a picture of the set-up in my gallery:

Note that there two stainless steal hinges on the seat facing aft.

I've got the original slide/track that came on my v21 back to back seat, you can have it if you want to pay shipping from Wilmington, NC.

Get one of these...when running, sit it up between the two existing seats...when fishing, turn it around facing rearward...go ahead and get a pair of them, that way in the summer, you can use in back them for all to sit...I've had a pair for years and they very stable and ride well...

Tryin' to put seating on that tank lid is gonna be a BEEYATCH...

My track must be the original one that came with the boat. I have looked all over it and can not see the Manuf name. My seats need to get replaced this winter or in the spring. Does any one know a good place to get replacement's. The treated wood is coming apart under the seats it makes a mess on deck and plugs the through hulls up( Not a good thing! ).

As long as the vinyl is worthwhile, it's easy to replace the wood backing...remove all staples and pull the old wood out for a pattern...Lowes has SS staples these days and staple guns are cheaper than seats...

Yup, I've got two of those and it's very nice......civilized even.........and much more comfortable than trying to " sit " in my previous center console boat.

I have two e-sea rider bean bags and they are, by far, the most comfortable seats on the boat.

My kids used to bring their beanbag chairs with them on the boat when they were smaller, they could lay in them and nap at a moments notice.

Bean-Bags like the E-Sea Rider are great!!...I think better for long haul, offshore rides and returns...and the kids love 'em!!...but for ridin' around in the boat for a day or so, the folding chairs seat passengers up higher so they can see and be up where the permanent seats are...boils down to personal choice...

I have one driver's pedestal and a 100 qt cooler...cushion stays in the garage.....more room on deck for floppin' fish...

I am not sure where the bait tank is on the V-21 but this is my set up on my V-20. Built my own seat bases for storage and height--to get the seats up where they are comfortable and good vision.

They look very comfortable, but it doesn't look like there is enough room for the driver to stand up while driving?

...I like the second pic where it looks like the fish are being held up by "magic".

You could move the seats back when you mount them--But yes I can stand in front of the seat--but it is tight--the way I wanted it. I either sit or drive on one knee most of the time.

The magic fish was a cool pic.
