Well I decided it was time to give the BURB a work-out and got a toy for her to pull around. I've been looking for awhile now, and found this one. She isn't the exact lay-out that me and the wife wanted, but he was in need of fast cash as he was moving out of state for a new job and needed money for the move. He was asking $4500, but lets just say he took a good deal less as he needed money to move. Checked it over and found that the furnace wouldn't stay on(looks to be mud dauber nests caught in the flame unit of the furnace), and the fridge won't shut off(control board is stuck on). Other than that all seems solid with almost new tires, group 31 deep cycle battery, 30 pound propane tanks, and 2 coats of rubber roofing within the last year. The BURB towed it like it wasn't there up to 60, but she's a tall wide trailer and NOT a lightweight model so the windage back there at 60+ is noticeable. She still does 70 fine though, but I'm probably going to keep it down to 60-65 for milage reasons as the EGT guage says my milage will be MUCH better there.
Few pics of the new toy coupled to the BURB.

:clap:Ferm, what I know about travel trailers wouldn't fill a thimble, but that looks like it woulda been a pretty good buy at $4500..nice, clean, obviously well taken care of and w/new tires, looks like a pretty good one to me...I saw one, maybe a touch smaller being towed down the intersate w/a bass boat behind the camper the other day...now if you can hang yer V behind it, you'll REELY have something nice!!...:sand:

I like that trailer, Ferm. Looks like its alot bigger inside than it seems.
Ferm are those the Ebay mirrors on your Burb? How do you like them? Also is your Burb diesel?

They're the same mirrors as the ones on Ebay, I just bought them from a site vendor on a site I frequent. Not real impressed with the quality of them though as they vibrate easily, and are pretty bad at 70. They do give alot of visibility though behind me. And she is definately a diesel, a DURAMAX/ALLISON crammed in(follow the link in my sig to the post about it here). And yes, it is a BIG 25 footer. It has to have about 7' of height inside, and is a full 8' wide outside.
And Reel I think it would have been a good buy at $4500, but he needed money so I got it for a good bit less.

Ohhh :oh: i was thinking a 6.5 TD.
I have read alot of bad things about Pcola Diesel in addition to what you said about them. I was planning to buy injectors for my 6.5 there. Guess not.
What do you think it will take to stop the vibration?

Nice addition, I agree with Reel, put and bumper hitch on the back and hook the v20 up as well. I have a 33 footer that I pull with my Suburban, it's probably more that she should handle but pulls pretty well. The only time I get concerned pulling the camper is when being passed by an 18 wheeler.

The biggest problem is the doors on the 88-99 trucks just weren't meant to support this heavy of a mirror. When you get that far out the slightest movement shows up in the mirrors. I'm going to try and refit the support brackets that came with them and see if I can tighten em up a little. As far as PENSACOLA goes, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM! I have heard nothing but horror stories about them over the last 2 1/2 years, and word is from somebody inside teh company is they know they are turning out inferior parts but the management really doesn't care so long as they keep making money.

Triple rigs in Fl are a big time fine down here as in they red flag you on teh side of the road, so no putting a hitch on the back and towing something else. I am gonna put a carrier back there though to put my generator on.

Ferm, she's a thing of beauty for sure. Up here you couldn't touch that for $4500, much less lower than that. So you got a steal. Now for the REELY big question... when are you guys making a road trip along the eastern seaboard to visit all us Yankees? :head:

We wanted to make it for the get together, but we just got the trailer yesterday. 2 months ago this trailer would have fetched $6K easy down here, but the market is diving again here as kids are gearing back up for school. Just sort of gonna play it by ear and see whne we can break away and head up that way.

Ferm, I'm jealous. My wife and I have talked about a camper, her father had a 38 ft 5th wheel. I'm kinda steering towards a motor home, only problem is(besides not having the $) I want one that will tow, that means diesel, which means even more money. Between the boats and the buggy project, I'd love to have one that will tow 7000 lbs thru the mountains

I'm ready to rough it now. Took the spare tire off the back and I'm gonna put it up front under the bed and built me a rack for the back of it and put my generator on it. I'm no fabricator, but I think it turned out pretty nice.

He will end up making some sort of "awning" for the generator to protect it when it rains.

I've got the aluminum to build it, just ran out of time as I'm hoping to head out tommorrow for Tennessee.

Unfortunately the time came to end this chapter. Just got back from delivering it to the new owners. With the addition of a baby it just wasn't big enough for us to fit all of his stuff in, AND still have enough room for him to move around. So I listed it for sale On Monday, some wonderful person on craigslist kept flagging it over and over(guessing they didn't want the competition for there own ad), but regardless of all that somebody showed up Saturday and fell in love with it right off the bat. I bought it for $3500 2 years ago, put $450 into repairs and modifications, and ended up selling it for $3850 delivered(cost me $50 in diesel to deliver it). Can't complain when I got to use it for 2 years for $100. Now to start looking for a bigger one to replace it.

Hoping to if some things work out. I'm actually trying to buy another one now for some other reasons. The old one just wasn't big enough with a baby and 3 dogs, and I wasn't willing to give up any of our dogs as they are all abandoned rescues that others have already given up on. And well I'd give up the wife before I would my son, so the trailer had to go until we can find a bigger one. At least now I know what I want, and I will hold out this time for the one I wanted the first go round.
