What would be a fair price to ask for a 73 V20 with a new starter, distributor, sending units and bilge pump. Boat is in great shape doesnt leak, but has low compression on one cylinder, exhaust leak and needs an exhaust valve?

With or without a trailer? How many axles if trailer is included. Outboard or I/O? What size engine? What year engine? What brand engine? Any soft spots on the floor? Solid transom? Bottom painted? Electronics included? If so which ones? Bimini top?

My point is it's impossible to give you a fair estimate without you giving us the basic information needed.

The above being said, in todays economy, I think that you can expect to see a selling price of between $1500-$3800, again, depending.

Destroyer is right...the more you tell, the better ballpark we can give you...pictures are important as well...

1973 I/O mercruiser 165 hp straight 6 cylinder with a tandem axle trailer that has new tires and led lights. No soft spots on floor or transom trouble. Has a bimini top and sides but I never have used them. Has a Uniden marine radio, eagle fisheasy 320c fishfinder and a garmin 276c with maps for lake Erie. The bottom has been painted but needs to be redone.

Thanks for the LOL, CTT. Very funny. Yes, that is some really brown looking water. Unfortunately, I do a lot of boating in water that looks like that. Not polluted or anything, just muddy bottom reservoirs. One definitely needs a shower and stiff brush scrub down after swimming.

I guess you've noticed the slow economy...boats aren't hoppin' of the shelf at breakneck speed these days...and the low compression in one cyl doesn't help, not to mention the other engine work...

Depending on the boat market in your area, you might wanna start around 15-1750, somewhere around there...JMHO...
