Friend of mine used to run a 34 CRUSADER with a single inboard diesel, and it threw up huge wakes behind it. The dolphins would come up and do this in the wakes all the time behind this boat, and it was a sight to see.

When a Destroyer moves at flank speed (32+ knots) it throws off a huge white bow wave. (Viewed head on it looks like the ship has a bow tie in it's teeth).
It's not uncommon for Dolphins to ride this wave for miles and miles. The pressure of the water is much like a surf wave and they ride it the same way while hardly moving.. in other words they are hitchhiking a free ride for miles and miles without expending any energy. They are so very smart.. people don't realize how great they are. One of them even spoke the other day.. he said "so long and thanks for all the fish"................................ :hide::hide::hide:

phat, you're in their house. all they want is a little rent.
willy, i am most at peace when in a marine environment. i was born of the water, as my father has owned a boat since the age of 16 and we were always on the water. i have a deep love, respect and awe at the beautiful creatures that share their planet with us. (the planet that we insist on trying to destroy) and as they are far less common up by us i appreciate them that much more.
