no i think that your outboard would weigh to much dont you have a 200 outboard. he said he put a 135 on it. i think your right it is to small.

he is also a new person to ebay i know he has 100% feedback but he is still new and for somthing that important I would want sombody with better expierence but that is just me.

Well, my last resort is to do this. When you guys are out shopping and see a guy with no shoes on, holes in the pants, wearing a cool looking V-20 tee shirt and ringing a bell next to a red bucket, its me begging. ;D

well the bracket can hold the weight of a 4 stroke bot can your transom handle that weight. also you would have to paint it to match the color of your boat. Otherwise it is a good looking bracket. *

just my curiosity again, but I noticed it said it offers more offshore safty, but how does it do this.

also check this one out. i know its small but it is alot cheaper than the other one here is a link.

Fish,
Isn't your boat an I/O. Dump that set up. take your boat to Sunrise Marine, he is just behind the U Haul place on Va Beach Blvd in Pembroke. He can plug the whole and hang the bracket and make it all match. Then Hang an outboard on it and you have a full transom, added flotation at the transom fishing hot rod! Safer in a rough or following sea because of the full transom, and lotsa brackets add flotation.

Watch the auction!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is just like the one CB has I believe, and no mater it will hold a 250 HP easy!

This is just like mine with out the swim platform.

franco,
yes i do have an i/o but i dont do that serious of fishing, sure i will take a rod and go out and drop a line in but the most i have ever cought was a flounder. *;D
i will think about that in the future but right now i am happy with the set up i have. thanks for the input though *:). but for rough water that would be a great set up. but dont i/o's already have a full transom. What would be nice is the added flotation from the bracket.

But when you dump the I/O, you have freed up all that deck area

i will dump the i/o when it throws a rod or costs me more to fix than replace but i just replaced it. otherwise i would do that in a heartbeat. ;D

also, i dont know about that little peewee motor you have back there but when i went fron smallblock ford to bracket with 225 evinrude outboard in my old searay, i lost about 100 pounds.

I don't belive I lost any weight from converting, Old motor and out drive were close to 500#

New motor 390, and bracket 125# Thats a gain of 15 for me.

One thing you do, do is change the center of gravity, as you are moving the 500 from in the boat to outside the boat.

For the cuddy model this is a good thing as I belive that the cuddys are bow haevy, and thats why they slam so much.

In a CC I think that would add to much to the rear, and change the ride even more then the Cuddy and maybe not for the better??

I will speak of the cuddy as that is what I have. Since the change over I feel it rides a bit better then the old days. But the steering is a bit off, by that I mean it is now a 23 footer and steeres that way.

There are so many pros to this conversion that the few are not note worthy.

Pro's,
Motor is quite out side the boat, you might think you have a 4 stroke?

The ride (in my case) is much better with more control on trim.

Gain space in the floor or for storage.

In my case I now have the full swim platform!

Rigging is nice and all out side the boat, you can even get the steering cable out of the tube with out having to move the motor.

Cons,

Backing down has little steering control.

Steering is again a bit wide and takes getting use to.

yea but i think charlie went from an i/o to an outboard and i know i/o's way more than outboards (to an extent) bu you just traded ooutboards. i think charlie went from an i/o to an outboard.

p.s. charlie i really do have a wimpy little i/o only 125 hp i get on plane in like 20 seconds. wont get on plane with more than four people onboard, but it is very economical. but i like power so i want a big 350 with 260 horse power!! ;D

nah, maco went from the i/o also but i think he also had the 4 banger.
i have the 350 / 260 in mine. she does get up and dance. no idea exactly how fast but she's too fast for me.
i figure about 45 - 50. not sure, i used to own those little pre-super boats but im much further in years now so 22- 35 mph is plenty for me.

if you dont like the power i will take it *;D ;D you can have my engine it will get yo a top speed of about 27 knots fast enough for you. *;D ;D

I WANT POWER, NEED POWER, GOTTA LOTS AND LOTS OF HAVE POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

right now i have this wussy little 4 banger i want a v8 with an exhaust system like a donzi or a racing boat. think the v-20 will sound mean then. ;D ;D

I went from a 165 Mercuriser (Chevy 250) to 175 HP Outboard.

Use to have like a top end of 30 mph and curz at 25 or so.

Now I have a top of 40 and curz at 30+, Big difference!
