Dbetterred,

Is there a public launch at Jamestown? If so could you kindly give me some info as to where it is located? I would rather launch somewhere up there then make the trip with the V-20 all the way from Point Judith. My Dakota gets better gas mileage then the Boat does! LOL... I would seriously like to give that area a try, thanks.

oh, ok. . . . . thanks.

Sorry Charlie I didn't see this post for a while. My Dakota pulls the V just fine. I do have the V-8 Magnum (318) so it has all the power I need to tow the boat and 3 growm men with all out gear. It is also only a two wheel drive truck, and I have never had any problems at the launch pulling the boat back up and out of the water. I love it.

I know there is a launch in jamestown somewhere. But not sure where. I really only launch at Oakland Beach in Warwick (my main place, because it's close to Prov, and it's a nice ramp, with lots of parking). I also launch at Point Judith for going to south county beaches or mainly to run to Block.

I'm a transplant and have only been here for 8 years so I haven't found everything yet. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Use Google to do a search of launch ramps in Jamestown, then use Google Earth to take a look at it. You can find it from the comfort of your computer desk. :head:

Shawsee, I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but doing a fly-over in Google Earth I found a ramp in West Cove.. looks like there's a parking lot and then a ramp leading down to the water. No info if it's public or private, but it looks like a public type.

You can find it @ 41*28'45.42"N by 71*21'40.96" W.

Hope this is what you're looking for. :head:
