Went Bass Fishin' w/a good buddy of mine Mon...he's got an interesting little ladder that is permanently attached via the two port-side engine mount bolts...has a pull-out pin for easy up or down of the two step ladder...thought this may interest some here who don't want swim-platform, but see the need to get back into the boat from time to time...

Very sturdy construction, deploys and retracts easily...he mounted a grab handle on top of transom to assist entry...

X2. That is one sweet invention... Sometimes the best ideas are the simple ones, although I do wonder why the inventor made that a drop down slot instead of just a pivot on the bottom bolt. Seems that a pivot would be easier to machine and structurally speaking would be sounder than that long slot. In all cases it's a great idea and the maker deserves a lot of credit for coming up with it.

The only thing I can think of is if the motor was turned all the way to the left (in this case) and it were a pivot on the bottom bolt the motor might interefere in deployment. Of course it may make it harder to actually board if that is the case too so who knows. I like it thought and wish I'd have thought of it. I sure as heck wouldn't be sitting here at work right now.

Nice, but they are sure proud of their work. Take a look at the price.

Probably of it hinged it would swing toward the boat when you tried to climb up just as a some hinged ladders do on a swim platform.

Is it load tested? I would be glad to offer my services for Beta testing. Need one for the flats boat.
