I've decided to buy an Icom Marine radio. I wanted the M422, but it is no longer available. Can anyone tell me about the M412, or a equal replacement for the M422. Thanks for you help.

I can only say that Icom makes nice products. I have an older IC-M304 and it works perfect. I also have an Icom handheld that has never failed.
I think MJ just bought the one you're interested in. I just installed it in his boat this past weekend, but didn't take note of the model number.

I decided to go with the Icom M412. The M422 is no longer being manufactured. I found a 412 for $188, no tax and no shipping. I think that it will work fine for me. Thanks again to all.

West Marine just ran a special on the 412 - Reg $199.99 with a $20 MFG. Rebate. Not that they have the best pricing, I think you did pretty good, saved the tax and free freight.
