Pretty fish BS. Some of those have been washing up dead on NC shores recently which is interesting since I didn't even think they are supposed to be anywhere close to here.
What did he bite?

Nah . . . She got a Fellowship to study in France for 9 months :) and then she'll be done with her PHD . . . I'm overwhelmed with the possibilities and I'm excited to move back east or south when she returns.

BS, whats up with your commercial salmon licence?
bigshrimpin
06-14-2007, 07:17 PM
Still in the transfer process. It should be complete for July 1st when the areas open up again. I had to put it on my other boat :) cause of some title issue w/DMV. The red boat was built in 1972 and has a 4 digit HIN number. DMV can't process a 4 digit HIN even thought I gave them a good title, 10 years of CA registrations, and a receipt for every dollar spent on the boat for the last 10 years. Major PIA . . . Luckily I have another boat (black Seacraft CC) . . . so now I'll have both boats registered as commercial, but the salmon permit is going to be on the center console :-/ which sucks.

Thats a dandy! finally a fish I reconize. We fish thema bunch here on the columbia river. that looks like a tasty keeper to me. The oversize are in the river right now. (over 5 ft as you only can keep em between 42 and 60" here) been catchin 6 to 10 footers. cant keep em but I love takin new guys out and watchin them get beat up by a fish for 45 minits. ive never landed one bigger than 10' but there are a few reachin 16-18ft seen feedin on shad up at bonniville dam. couple weekends ago I hooked what felt like a nuclear submarine. It broke my 130# dacron leader right in the middle. I use 150# mainline for these brutes with a ugly stick rod and a shimano TLD 20 reel. Good times!!
thats a classic picture of you two kissin. I love it!
