2 wires?

What are these two wires used for they come out of the bottom of the control box and are not connected to anything!My trim works,this is to a 79 johnson 200 hp motor can anyone help me?

probably the neutral safety switch. It prevents you from starting it in gear.

couldn't tell from the pics, but what color are they?

thoughs are you neutral safety switch wires as stated. they will be black / yellow.
