new to this site! just bought a 74 wellcraft 20v. looks like a great boat, what I've read so far it is a good boat.

Need some parts:
1.The hatch cover(sliding) that goes in front of the middle window.
2.I guess there's a door that is supposed to be in the opening. need that too!

I'll post pictures of my boat whenever i figure it out. it will probably help out tons.

Thanks

Welcome to the site looks like you have a nice 74 v there. I have a 73 been looking for the same things with no luck. Plan on just building them ,The door and the front slide cover are not that involved will post some pic when building them. One bit of advise just double check the transom and the stringers these old girls are great but pron to the transom and stringers going south. Wish my windshield looked that good. There's a ton of help and encouragement on this site with out it I would have thrown in the towel a long time ago..Much luck and keep the pic coming love seeing the progress.

thanks man. I do believe this site is going to be extremely helpfull to me!

On the stingers and transom, what would your best judgment on how to check these to issues out?

When i was buying the boat I was jumping up and down all over the boat looking for soft spots. found none and i weigh 230lbs. there is 1 round screw out port near the transom. looked in there (everything looks alright)

now the transom looks alright! how do i check to see if its rotted? or bad

Welcome to the site....It will take time but sooner or later if you keep at it you'll find the parts that you need. Did the early 70's boats have a door on them? cant remember every seeing one with a door on it.

My 77 didn't come with a door, but my neighbor has a 76 with a door. I don't know if it was added on later or what.

why has the transom been cut lower on one side of the motor? may have transom issues there.

Just found this thread.
Skools, I'll bet that was a type of modification just for ease of the steering.
I don't ever remember a cuddy door being on the one I have, just a canvas cover. Did this to keep vagrants out.

And the hatch cover is gonna be a booger to find.

My '74 was just fitted for a canvas cover over the entry. My hatch cover is OK but they were just fiberglass without much reinforcement so I wouldn't expect there to be too many good spares around.

there's a thread right below this where someone (mulv80 I think?) has a 79 sliding hatch cover to sell.
