Well, it was just me and the V this trip to the November powder hunt. Ended up leaving from the house Wednesday about 45 minutes before daylight to be able to take advantage of the high tides to put the boat in at the ramp in order to make it to the cut to be there about daylight to be able to distinguish where the channels were for the 15 mile trip.
I was actually the first person to the hunt but by the time I got the boat secured for stream anchor a charter boat dropped two other people off, when I actually checked in I was #3 for the hunt.
Temperatures ranged from 35 to 70 degrees for the three day hunt, light rain on Thursday brought the animals out to venture all over the place, NOAA promised heavy thunderstorms that day but it didn't happen. Winds was back and forth most of the trip from South to NW to NE up to 35kts.
Any Sandgnats and Mosquitoes were almost nonexistent, all the circumstances made for an almost perfect trip.
I forgot to check the attendance quantity and the kill sheets. Best guess was 25 hunters and about 18 deer harvested. Most appeared in the 80lb to 125lb range.
I ended up with a 6pt and 8pt, about 120lb and 110lb.
As usual, sorry no good pictures, didn't have time but to hunt/eat and sleep.
Here's a few.

What the hell was that video??

willy, that smokepole is just too nice, too nice to take to a saltwater island for 5 days on a boat trip. VERY NICE!! Love the horn and bag too!
The two I brought was a CVA Hawken and a CVA Mag-Bolt 150. The Mag-Bolt has a scope on it, both are 50cal setup to use .429 180gr XTP's with sabots or 320gr REAL bullets I've cast. Both using 100gr of RS and Musket Caps.

I've shot the CVA Hawken, don't know the other, sounds too fancy for my doings, and yea the salt would be a biatch. I am going to take a week next year and do a pack in or canoe in hunt with one of my smoke poles for some back country big bucks. Either the Adirondacks or two or three others I have been eyeballing down a little south for awhile.
Ain't nothing like still hunting the forest with a smoke pole. I go back in time every time I do it, love it.
Nice bucks my friend, you did well and came out with your topknot!

Should of seen the one I missed, have no idea how, but I missed!
After the first two I was down to using State Tags, intended to shoot up to 3 Does, then a booger I felt was nice enough to eat up one of my Buck tags comes by,
AND I MISSED.
Also had a Doe poop on my boot, and had a typical island 6pt about 65lbs just feed by me at 15 FEET.
Hunted from the ground the whole time. Both I did take was less than 25yards, the one I MISSED was even closer.
