A Dodge would not be on my short list, but sounds like a good deal!

Good Luck!

That's an awesome motor, reliable and powerful.. but you'll pay for it at the pump. Expect to get 10-11 mpg tops. I have several freinds that have them and they all say the same thing.... "Love the motor, hate the fuel economy". :head:

good thing is i'm two blocks from the train station. i put MAYBE two miles a week on my car. for local and family stuff we will rely on the bosses minivan. other than taking my pop out once a week and local stuff i dont drive around all that much. just want something with balls so when i do find a boat that fits i'll be ready to drag it home.

did i mention that my local ramp is about 3 tenths of a mile from my house. the next closest ramp is less than 4 miles away so i'll have a couple options without worrying too much about economy.

and maco, my first choice was chevy followed closely by ford but in this year range with mileage this low i cant beat the value.

sh!t, if i had macojoe money i'd burn mine and i'd be driving around in that beast that you do.

or better yet, willy money, brand new truck, new center console, hell i'd be living high on the hog.

As long as you are not worried about gas that Dodge should be fine.

And my beast is getting 16.5 mpg in the 5.7 V8
My Black truck was getting 14.5

to be honest its not that i'm not worried about the gas mileage, i just cant afford the chevy or the ford. this just kind of fell into my lap and it was this or a subaru outback.
and if the boss ever found out what kind of mileage this thing gets she would sh!t. by the time she finds out it'll be too late.
maybe a couple years down the road things will get better financially and i'll be able to get the one i really want. until then this one will have to do.

The milage on a HEMI won't kill yeah that bad. At least it aint the old 360 that DODGE used for years that would get 12 on a GOOD day, or the V-10 that would get 8-9 empty running 55-60.

My black Chevy had a 4.8 and I towed my boat and my Camper that is 30 feet long, all I did was boost up my rear springs for the tongue weight.

The 4.7L aint a bad engine by any means, but it does require religous maintence. Slacking on just a couple of oil changes can and has resulted in quite a few bearing failures in them. I had a 4.7L in my 2000 DAKOTA that I had, and loved it. It needs a few RPM's to pull a load, but it does make good power up high. Theres also a good aftermarket out there for them for upgrades.
