Separately, he angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques..

I have seen this before, it is brilliant yet simple and honest. Our country has moved so far from simple honesty and honor that we are going to have a hard time returning to it without a profound leader, someone with the ability like a Reagan to express the peoples desire for it.

I'll be running on a platform of a handgun in every house. Anti-PC (The right to make jokes about any persons religion, creed, national origin, race, etc. without fear of getting arrested for hate speach) Pro-Life, Lower taxes (hell, every politician has that one so I should also I guess) Manditory saluting the flag and reading a passage from the bible at the start of EVERY school day, Secure borders, (landmines and claymores come to mind), Freedom to practice whatever religion you want...(as long as it doesn't preach overthrow of anyone else's religion), less government, two martini lunches, and national happy hour starting at 3:30pm every day...(right after lunch). Oh, and a 4 day work week.

I am with you man with a few caveats. I would not mandate anything religious, I would leave it up to the communities to allow expression any way they wish as long as it does not interfer with anyone else doing the same.
I believe God spoke to people all around the world, and did so in many ways and would never tell anyone that my belief is the only way.
I would outlaw any religion that advocated world domination and the destruction of any other religion. I would outlaw the establishment of any law being used in this country other than the U.S Constitution.
I would not force anyone to salute our flag, but would ensure the schools in this country teach the true history of our founding and not the re-visionist crap that has become the venue in our schools.
At every level of education it would be mandatory the teaching of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Beyond that the individual schools can determine the agenda.
The separation of Church and State would mean what was meant when the Founders wrote it. That the States cannot force anyone to a established religion. But would not preclude the American People from expressing their faith in the public arenas or in public buildings. That was never the intent.
Judges would be restricted to the direct meaning of the Constitution not base their decisions on the most recent interpertation by a Judge which is what happened in this country under the Warren court where the Case Law made by a Judge becomes the law of the land.
That single thing is what has turned this country away from the Constitution and was the thing pushed by Progressives starting in the 1930's. With FDR removing sitting Supreme Court Justices because they would not find in his favor for his so called "Second Constitution" which is what brought us many of the ills of our dependent society today.
That is why a single Federal piece of dung Judge can over turn a constitutional amendment in the state of California voted in by SEVEN MILLION PEOPLE.
How far we have come from what our founders built, it is tragic, it is the reason we are in so much trouble today.

Handguns except under certain circumstances. People can still own shotguns and rifles. I have two friends that live in Aus and they explained it to me a while back.

CTT... (and others)... let me remind you all that when I was growing up in public school we did exactly that. We saluted the flag and a student read a passage from the bible.. usually "though I walk throught he valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil"..etc. It wasn't Catholic, Protestant, ***ish, Hindu or anything else.. it was inspirational words...Don't you guys see that? Take the labels off of things and they work for every religion. (WHY does the server filter out J ew, but not Catholic or Protestant or any other religion? Isn't that reverse discrimination?) :p

I'm also pro-choice.. I believe that everyone has the choice to say yes or no to having sex.. but once that sex makes a baby, and you kill that defenseless baby, it's murder. I know others have different views, and they are entitled to them... This is just my view. (I'll bet that if you let that child be born, and allowed it to grow old enough to make an intelligent decision.. (a choice).. it would tell you that it wanted to continue living. It didn't want to be killed because someone else didn't want to be inconvenienced)

And don't get me started on Saluting the flag... Too many people in our history have died defending that piece of cloth... it represents our nation, and the people that sacrificed everything so that others might live in freedom. Saluting the flag is nothing more than an affirmation, honoring them and pledging oneself to do the same, if need be, so that others may live freely. I would lay down my life for anyone in my family.. Mother, brother, sister, wife, kids, etc. What's wrong with extending that family out to include all peoples in our nation? Other people have died for me.. for everyone reading this.. can I, as a citizen of this nation, do less?

Willy, I wasn't advocating governemnt establishing a religion. Far from it. It would be the last thing I wanted.. But understand the mindset of the framers of our constitution.. They had left England to be free from state established religion. But all of them believed in God. They just wanted to be free to practice that belief as they saw fit.
