I hit an underwater log and it nearly ripped my outboard off. It has cracked the transom inside and out, cracked the splash basin? and now the transom flexes just from the engines weight. Any good advice on how to repair this?

Chances are that it was in need of repair before you hit, and this just moved the repair forward.

If you are handy you will be able to do it yourself, I not saying it is going to be all fun and games, but you can do it!!

Like Destroyer said there are many threads here on how and what to do, take a look around, read a lot! When you are ready start asking and get a camera, we all here will walk you thur it!

Good Luck!!

Thanks for the reply guys. I am doing a litle more investigating and actually found some of the pics on this site. It looks like maybe removing the old wood I understand, and then use a "poured filler resin" to take the woods place. I will also have interior and exterior glass work to do. That is what concerns me to get it looking good/right.

I would start by taking some of the wood out, and then fix the glass on the outside first.
V20 has a curved transom and that is the only real problem, not losing it as you cut things away, buy sanding it and fixing with out getting rid of all the wood you will have the curve maintained, then do the rest.
When you get it all poured and ready thats when you start making it pretty
