I finally got some decent pics of the lights last night. First off let me start from the beginning. I got these lights for free. Yes I got them for free. They are Seavision sv20. A couple months back we hauled a 50 Post at my marina. The owner wanted his underwater lights replaced with LED lights. The lights worked but he never took care of them so they were a little corroded and not as bright as they should be. So I replaced them with the LEDs. He didn't want the old lights so I kept them. I contacted Seavision to obtain parts and they offered to completely rebuild them for $125 each. I'm pretty sure they list around $1000 each so it seemed like a good deal. When I got them back they looked as good as new. Thease things are BRIGHT. I have had my boat in the water for a while now but where I keep it the water is like iced tea so the lights don't show as good. Last night we took the boat out to dinner by the Manasquan Inlet on an incomming tide. The water was excaptionally clear. It really made a big difference for how far these things shoot out light. Here are some pics. First of the installation then in the water.

The blue lights are pretty bright. I would say they are not good for night vision. I never use them while I'm making way above idle speed.

We only used red lights in the Navy while at sea at nighttime. Tests have shown that the red spectrum effects your night vision less than any other color, so that's all that is used. It can take up to a half hour to get your night vision back when your eyes are exposed to white light at night. That's plenty of time to hit something or someone in the darkness while you're blind.
