Even though my boat isn't even in the water yet I figured I would get this out there early this year. Maybe the turnout will be better. I'm thinking maybe mid July at Tices shoal. Or we could cruise down to Atlantic City. I'm open to suggestions.

thanks Rob. Is your boat in yet? I have been so busy with work I haven't been able to come up for air until the past few days. I'm hoping to get mine in by next week. The floor turned out good but I never did the back seat. I will have to do that while its in its slip. I got an awsome deal on some underwater lights. I will be installing them tomorrow...Pics are soon to come.

Tenatively, I'm in. A lot depends on the date, work, and my wifes plans/desires. But it sounds like fun and hopefully I can make it.

I'm gonna be in Jersey for the 18-20th or so of June. I won't be able to go out on a boat, but I was gonna see if maybe some members wanted to try and do a lunch or something while I was up that way.

As far as I know we are leaving FL on June 17th, and if the wife has her way we won't be there until later on the 18th. I know that I have to meet up with her family on the 19th and go to a graduation party on the 20th. I'm sure I could make some time to meet up with a some of you northerners before I skeedaddle south. Come on now, I was bold enough to meet up with MJ in NO. I'm heading for the Tom's river area as that is where most of her family resides.

Tom's River sounds like a good central meeting place. I used to live there actually. There was a great bar named Reynolds where you could get beer steamed clams and hot dogs. I wonder if it's still there? Anyways, it's 79 miles from me now, so that's a do-able range. First round is on me.

It was at (22?) Water Street just off of So. Main St. (Rt 166). Looking at Google Earth it's long gone. Looks like it's a lawyers office now. They had the greatest little neck clams... steamers, pissers, you name it. And the beer steamed hot dogs were sooooooo good. I used to stop there on my way home from fishing almost every night. I lived about 3/4 of a mile away. Oh well.. nothing is constant except change.. Anyone else got a favorite spot they would like to meet at?

I'd love to meet you Ferm but I just may pass you on I-95 as we leave on the 18th for our annual vacation down in North Carolina....Will mostly likely be seein' Reelapeelin while there so we will knock one back for you!

I like 7-17 at Tices Shoal /Barnegat Bay. I had a great time last year camping in Bayville and heading out there.

Rob, that works for me. If it comes about let me know and we can caravan down there together. I'm guessing that you go down 287? :head:

I may try to make it down. I work in NY/NJ, so may not be too much of a trip for me from work. Would really like to meet some fellow V captains.

ok so the weekend of July 17,18 sounds like a winner. Tices shoal is a great place to meet up. It worked out great last year.

Absolutely...its set in stone now it seems unless somebody wants to lobby for a change...7/17 at Tice's shoal it seems to be...I do usually take 287 all the way down to the parkway...for some reason I'm still tempted to take 24 and cut over to the parkway as it is shorter but it still bites me in the *** every time I try it....My house is about 2 minutes off of 287 exit so its real easy for me.

As it gets closer we can firm things up... Last year when I went down we camped saturday night in a campground not far from the water. Definitely plan on staying again this time. Maybe with you in the mix I'll be able to get on the road earlier this year!

I live right off 23 close to Willowbrook, so actually 46 to 3 to the Parkway is shorter for me, but 46 to 287 works also. I have two sets of Cobra walkie-t's so we can talk while driving for emergencys etc. (I took my CB out long ago and it's a lot cheaper and easier than using cell phones) We could also take 78 eastbound.. that would bring us to the parkway right at the Union plaza interchange. Not sure if that would be shorter... I'll plan a few routes tonight and see which one has the least miles. There was a spot that locals know of right near Forked River State Marina where you can launch for free, then it's a 5 minute run down river and then almost straight across the bay to Tices and the lighthouse. Not sure if it's still there, but I think it is... I'll check Goggle Earth and find out. But if you have a favorite launch area that's fine with me also.

Anyone else want to join the parade? I have 4 radio's total, so there's room for more in the caravan.

Rob... As a follow-up... Yes, the free dirt ramp near the NJ State Marina in Forked River is still there. It's an easy launch, but trailer parking is limited. Typically it's first come, first served. We'd have to get there early. 39 49.895' 74 11.407' if you want to see it on Google earth. East Lakeside Drive

A little to the south in Waretown is a launch ramp that's due west of Tice's .... It's a fee to launch ramp, but it's a straight run to the other side of the bay. (So. Harbor Marine, 116 Oregon Ave. Waretown.)

If you have any other preferances I'm open to any suggestion. I have no pride of ownership in the above places... they are only suggestions.
