Finally got to the business of fabricating the transducer well for thru-hull installation today I hope...CB was a big help in description of how this would set up, so if this goes in the crapper he can help me blame MJ...LOL!!

First off, my transducer is a dual frequency Lowrance, which means it's about as big as the shank of a small hog as opposed to the smaller one in the foreground...this meant goin to a 6" pipe and cap, but ample room in bilge, so no horrors there...

Fist order of business was to whack off...the pipe, Man...THE PIPE!!...as this size pipe wouldn't fit under my chop-saw, had to use hand saw, but managed to get the angle needed...

Top view shows the "L" bracket I made up for main attachment point to inside of pipe, thru-bolted to the transducer...

From the bottom the small orange tab (rubber end cap over a screw thru the sidewall) is there to keep the transducer from dropping down, although it tightened up well to the bracket, I'd rather not open this thing unless I have to...

Sliced an "X" shaped slit thru the rubber cap, fed the transducer plug and all wire thru it making it ready to install...

On installation, I'll run a healthy bead of 5200 around the angled base and apply to the 20* inside of the bilge...a zip-strap around the rubber cap to secure the wire after tightening the clamp, seal all the screws and paint some liquid electrical tape into the slot and around the wire where it penetrates the cap...that oughtta keep the water that'll fill this well from sloshing out...

Like said, I'm gonna try to get this in today, so better get crackin...if anybody sees where I can improve this set up, let me know...this is my first time at this so be gentle...yeah, RIGHT!!...LOL!!

You know you are south of the Mason Dixon line when you use hog parts as a size reference:you:
