Glad you got your truck back, Ridge...maybe you can name the '74 "Nine Grand"
Remember the song, "You can trust your car to the man who wears the star..."...we can make up a jingle for you...what rhymes w/truck?...hmm
Glad they're payin' though...that'd be a REAL pain...

That kind of surprises me. You'd think that a company that does the right thing for a customer would want others to know about it.

I got her back. It runs good. Just like before. I don't know what a motor costs MJ but the parts on the Duramax were darn expensive. Injectors were $600/ea. Twelve and a half hours labor. Two fuel logs, approx $600 ea., oil change, filters, more labor. I agree you could buy a nice vehicle for $9k. This one is a 2006 with only 48,000 miles, they didn't want to buy it so they fixed it.
The fuel station does not want the state to get involved. They would have more explaining to do so they want it quiet. They took great care of me. I am so happy to have my truck back. It was quite an ordeal.
Managed to hit the water and do some fishing Saturday. My buddy Bruce and I got our redfish early and started for some speckled trout. I ended up with a 26" red and we culled one of the 19" we caught earlier. Then he caught one keeper trout. Beautiful weather.

That's a beauty. In Louisiana that is a keeper but not in FL. We have a slot with none allowed over. Man they pull good. I saw where you had a great vacation. Congratulations

Dang - I just had the motor rebuilt in my Yukon for $6993.00 less than that. Wow. I'm glad you didn't have to pay.

Jeez, I just did a 305 for my uncle for about $1500.

Yeah I'm sure I paid more than if I would have had a mechanically minded nephew nearby. I'm just glad it is done. She runs good. My wife and I were at each other's throats over sharing her car!

That's the difference between, "I did..." and "I had it done..." LOL!!...:sun:

Very true Reel. When you work on your own rig, you need to pay yourself a nickel / hour. LOL.
You could just out and out buy a brand new gasoline crate motor with some nice goodies to go along with it for the price of the parts that got replaced on this Duramax. But, you would only have a gas motor. There is no comparison to the Duramax IMO. The diesel can run at the rated horsepower indefinitely without overheating and the torque can move mountains. AND It will hang with most gas jobs in performance. (before modifications) I am not trying to start a debate about cost or economy I have had gas trucks all my life until this one. All I'm trying to say is the modern diesels are impressive although expensive to repair.
