If anybody is watching this one or thinking of buying it, DON'T!!!!! It is a complete pile os S--T! The pictures you see are NOT what is for sale. It's a nice bait and switch deal. If you need more details ask, but I'm FURIOUS with this guy right now.

He's on the other coast from me, but swore that this was a freshwater motor and outdrive in NEW condition. Clearly states in his ad that it has NO corrosion or pitting and engine is ready to go. Talked to him on the phone and he told me it was ALL ORIGINAL, NO PARTS HAD EVER BEEN REPLACED ON IT. Original paint as well. I drive 3 hours one way to go pick this package up for $4500 cash(figure $1800 for the engine and $2500 for the outdrive and throw in $200 for all of the accesories). I get there and the first words out of his mouth was him apoligizing and saying he wasn't expecting me yet(but he clearly said to be there THURSDAY afternoon). I go back and look at it and the GIMBLE assembly is welded ALL over it because it was all busted out. It was clearly corroded in numerous spots as well. NONE of the outdrive parts or steering and harness is what is pictured. The engine clearly had just been painted, he proceeded to argue with me about it until I started pointing out all of the rust spots, overspray and tape he didn't remove from painting it. He had just slapped a new alternator, starter, aftermarket exhaust manifolds, aftermarket risers(which he also argued and said they were original) and fuel supply pump on it. His idea of running it was to spray some starting fluid in the throttle body and running it for 2 seconds. The high pressure fuel pump was bad, all of the fuses in it had just been replaced and corrosion all over the modules. It appears as though it sank and he salvaged it and is trying to turn it around for a buck. It's one thing if he disclosed that it had some issues, but he PLAINLY stated it was like NEW! Then he started trying to lower his price, tell me he would get me another gimble, it was 10 years old, and this that and the other. I just left, didn't want it after seeing how much stuff he lied about. CROOKED SELLER, flat out!
