Just brought the 21 home from havin the motor installed...been SWEATIN whether or not the Jack-Plate would set the short-shaft motor back enough from the longer transom...IT WORKED!! :sun:

One little thing...the steering arm comin outta the front of the motor makes contact w/the top of the transom when motor is raised...solution is to cut it off and that will allow lots more tilt in case I gotta power my way off a sandbar at the coast (ask me why I might anticipate such a thing)...I think the offending protrusion is shown here...

So next time you see this, about 2 1/2" of that arm will be gone, then it'll be full-tilt capable...anyway, the thru-hull fittings should be in today and I'll hopefully have them in soon, plumb them and then splash this puppy to see how she goes...:sun:

fore sure...half way paid for already...arriving the 19, leaving the 26th...got a house further down towards the inlet. Going to have a problem parking because it has this funky little drive to get back to the house but I'm sure I'll figure out something.

Almost without a doubt.....not looking forward to the tow but got to do what you got to do....being down there for a whole week boatless is just something I can handle another year. we usually break it up into friday night drive and saturday anway so shouldnt be too bad....that's what the comment was about parking at the house being a pain because its a squirelly little access driveway to get back to the parking for the house...dont think I'm going to be able to get the boat back there without screwing up parking for everyone else....Will have to figure something out....seems pretty secure down that end of the island...maybe thinking I can strike a deal with somebody down there to let me park the boat in by their house at night...maybe offer them an afternoon boat cruise in exchange...There's also a good sized parking lot for a row of townhouses down that end that always has a whole long parking lots open, (thats where we park when we take the walk down to the inlet and nobody seems to hassle you for parking there. I'm sure I'll figure something out....if it was up to me I'd be renting a house on the other side (for half the cost!) on the water with a dock but my friends wife really wants to be on the beach so got to make concessions.

Anyway...we'll be there with boat in tow!

Man Reel you came a long way on that girl since Saturday. You must have had a lock-in with your V on your B-day. Looking good. Before you cut, are you sure the motor is high enough on the jackplate to have the lower just right in the water while on plane? If you had to raise it any you may not have to cut at all. You do have a little more setback than the normal 20V.

Yeah Ridge, yer right...I'll be waiting till I can run it to actually cut it off...it's all cross yer fingers and hope it works till then... :head:

Rob...where there's a will there's a way, so I know you'll figure something out...towin's gonna be an adventure for sure, but it'll be worth it hands down!!...

When them stripers of yours running ?

It's been an unusually bad season for the sweetwater stripes around here...although my fishin' bud has boated a couple of 15 lbers...one on trout and one on an umbrella rig...we were out yesterday for a short time and did nothing...maybe they'll be chompin' again by the time I get the 21 ready and you can come on DOWN!!...:sun:

A lot of stained water in the lakes I fish right now.

Same down here, but something else going on too...Hartwell was down as much as 23' for as much as 24-36 months...the lake normally "turns over" (temp and dissolved oxygen) and hasn't this year...a theory has all the vegetation that grew along the exposed edge of the lake normally underwater is rotting now that the lake is back up and the rotting is causing lowered D.O. levels...bummer...also there is LOADS of baitfish so there's no reason for them to be hungry...whatever it is, things have SLOWED way down...:head:
