Vic made the long haul last night from Lakeland FL to Spartanburg SC...got in about 2 am and crashed at the Marriot...gave me a ring this morning and came out, had coffee, loaded the V onto what is definately the nicest trailer that hull's ever been on...we chatted a while and off he went...It's GREAT to meet good folks like Vic!!...one of the perks of this forum

Ridge has some pretty impressive plans for it...I won't steal any thunder...will let him tell ya what's to become of my old friend...but it sounds like a pretty racy deal to me...:sun:

It's great to keep her in the family. If any of ya'll haven't seen RidgeRunner's/Vic's album, check it out. He' got a SWEET center console that took him 10 years to restore. I think the Reelappealin' 1 is in good hands.

Glad it was saved from the chain saw.....although that would have been quite a show.

CHainsaws don't like fiberglass, it kills the chain in not time. Tried that with an old angler and ended up using a SAWZALL with a bi-metal blade.

Long roadtrip. The 74 never mad it to its new resting place. Neither did the truck. Got a load of bad fuel at the Texaco in Walterboro, SC. Nursed it back to FL. Barely crossed the state line. I hope I didn't hurt anything. That is a story worthy of a new thread all by itself.
Nice meeting both Reel and Bradford.
BTW, I failed to turn right at Columbia, SC on my way back. Went straight onto 126 and into Columbia. Glad I did. I got to see the Saluda and Broad Rivers (I think) large boulders and rapids which is a rare sight for this Florida boy. I don't get around much.
My next call is to Texaco:fight:

there's a great place to look at the river at the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, has a bridge over the river, lots of history around there, best view in the place is at the back end of the parking lot

Reel, your old girl is safe in Jacksonville, don't worry.
I must say, that was quite a trip.
I stopped at Advance and bought a fuel filter and Lucas fuel treatment. I made it to Orangeburg where I filled up with fresh fuel. I saw Bradford in Savannah and we found a NAPA where I changed the filter again. I thought I was out of the woods. Made it to the Fl/Ga line and all hell broke loose. Fogged up I-95 all six lanes. Got to meet two very nice FHP officers and about six very nice fire fighters. No fire just looked that way from the plume. Got AAA to haul it off the Interstate to Yulee, FL. I caught a ride from my friend Bruce who picked up the boat and hauled it to his house in Jacksonville. He is working in Tampa, (temporarily) so he brought me back to Lakeland after a brief detour to Bass Pro Shops in Orlando. He really saved my bacon.

Once agin, It was very nice to meet you and your neighbor as well as Bradford. You guys are top shelf in my book.

Man that is too cool! Not referring to the fuel problems RR had - that was NOT cool at all. I'm just glad the Reelapeelin numero uno is staying in the family! Congrats to Reel for not havin to woop out the chainsaw and RR for getting a new restore candidate! :sun:
