I use Poli-glo get it on internet at boat stores, Alot less hassel, no buffing just wipe it on let it dry an your done, requires multiple coats.

The kit has a cleaner that removes the haze and then wash boat and put the Poli-glo on.

I put on 6 coats by myself on my V and it took me about a hour.

Poli-glo - No Buffing????
Well that made me look into that Poli-glow stuff. Looks good but it ain't cheap. 60 bucks on ebay for a starter kit.
Last stuff I used was some west marine wax that came with the boat, used it with my buffer. I wasn't impressed.
Sometimes ya get what ya pay for...

I finished my Hull after the restore with Aqua-Buff 2000
Spread Aqua-Buff 2000 Compound and Polish on the surface to be compounded with a brush or cloth, several square feet at a time, and mist the surface with water. Immediately machine buff with a clean, damp lambs wool pad. Repeat the process to eliminate scratches from exceptionally hard surfaces. Should the compound become dry while being buffed, re-wet again by misting the surface with water.
See this link for additional information http://www.duratec1.com/dp17-18.html
I use this cheap buffer works like a champ http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=92623

I used 3M Fiberglass Restorer and Wax, about 10.00 a bottle. I applied it, misted with water in a spray bottle and used a buffer and wool pad first coat. Then ran second coat with water mist and buffer and polishing pad and was very pleased with the results! After all was done I gave it a good coat of wax, its held up great.

I use Starbrite PTEF Polish with Teflon on the Rosborough. We have a tough time with soot from the local coal powerplant settling on the boat. This stuff seems to make it easier to wash off the soot.

I also like the deck cleaner made by Starbrite. It seems to work better then Woody wax.

I think he spent a few days in the hospital after Willy's visit too...but I think there was another liquid involved other than boat soap...I don't know...I'm just sayin'...

Yea Reel and Spare

I didn't use good gloves and it ran down inside the gloves and soaked into my skin. It gave me a bad reaction. Use with good gloves.

I put it on and I haven't had to do anything since, it makes the boat look nice. I'll use it again I'll just wear some long sleeve gloves that go up to my elbow.

Ain't cheap but goes on quick and easy and lasts a long time.

I went into the hospital after Wille left so they could treat me for something the southern doctors described as "yankee syndrome" they said us southerners get it after a high impact visit from someone who really lives "way up north". :sun:

So it was the poli-glo that gave you the reaction?

yep I should have wiped it off of me as soon as it got on, best thing is to wear long sleeved gloves.

I guess I am immune. I usually go at it without any gloves. In fact I get such a buildup on my fingers I need a scraper to get it off. It is not a wax but more of a coating. The stuff reminds me of floor wax. It will take a very dull finish and bring it back to a shine and it works well below the water line to prevent hull staining but I'm not sure if I would use it unless you decide to commit to it from now on as it is a pain to remove after the fact.
After you prep the hull by using the diluted blue prep solution and a scotch brite pad (basically wet sanding with chemicals). Then you use the applicator provided in the kit to wipe the stuff on. The shine builds as you apply more coats, six coats work real well. You never wipe it off. Lasts about a year depending on your lattitude and how you store the vessel. Reapply every year from now on OR use the prep full strength with more scrubbing to remove the Poli-Glow and go back to compounding and waxing???
Since the sealer reminds me of floor wax the prep is probably industrial strength floor stripper. Did the prep make you sick, give you chemical burns, or did the sealer mess you up?

It may have a been a combination of both, but I think it was the sealer, when I put it on the temp that day was upper 90's and I think with my hands and forearms sweating it went staright into my pores.
