man, i couldnt believe it. somehow we made the backdoor wildcard round and we were in the playoffs. everybody said the colts rolled over but as far as i was concerned we beat nfl athletes in colts uniforms. we went on to beat the bengals and we're in.
now i've been a jet fan for as far back as i can remember. about 32 years. i wasnt really a fan when we won the big one but i remember my family going nuts.
well, this was our year. we had won our second round playoff game for the first time in almost 30 years and man, the way our D was playing, how can we lose?
bring on the colts.
fast forward to game day. the hype in new york was unreal. all the fools that had us at 6-10 in the begining of the season were telling us, daily, why we were going to the superbowl. there were bandwagon jet fans everywhere. sports authority and modell's were selling out of jets gear as fast as they could stock it.
well, the first quarter was incredible. how many teams can get through and sack the great peyton manning not once but twice. we were having our way with the colts on both sides of the ball.
i dont know how it happened but somewhere around the second quarter, manning woke up. we all know what kind of quarterback this guy is. he is the best football player in the game today.
well, come the second half we just about had all the wind knocked out of us and it was all downhill from there.
guys, i swear, i felt like crying. i was so disappointed i couldnt believe it. we are a big football family and have been waiting for this for quite a few years.
THIS SUCKS!!!
i have been saying "wait til next year" for more years than i care to remember but this is just the worst.

NOTHING ELSE MATTERS

I feel for you Chuck. Believe it or not, I was pulling for ya. I wanted the Jets to win so the Pats fans would get good and pissed off to the point that the owners felt it in ticket sales. That's the only way they are going to make the changes we need in order to be back at the top.
Now it's all about the Saints. Sorry Nipper. :zip:

Repeat after me:

"It's only a game"

"It's only a game"

"It's only a game"

I have been saying that since we (The Pats) lost to the Giants in our last super bowl where we almost made history.
Maybe it will work for you.

Sorry Charlie. The Jets are a heckuva team. I know they did not make it to the super bowl, but the team and its fans should be proud of what they achieved. With the young studs the Jets have, including Sanchez, they will be very good for years to come.

I'm a lifelong Packer-backer. I learned that phrase long ago. It just took a long time for it to really sink in.

The sun always rises the next day. Life goes on. There's always next season. And yes, it is only a game.

But look at it this way

If the Jets and the Vikings were to play, that would be just as good of a game as what the superbowl should be.

Sorry Chuck. I feel your pain. I usually go from football to hockey and NASCAR. Can't get into basketball. Maybe a little Winter olympics thrown in. Watch out for the Jets next season. They're going to be a contender.

I was pulling for a Jets/Vikings game too.

Between the Panthers stinking it up and my fantasy team going from leading the league to ending up 6th at the end, this was a rough football season.

But I do believe we are in for a treat with the matchup we got in the SB.

Sorry guys, but as you can see I'm from the Louisiana area and it seems that someone got their wish for a miracle. The Saints are in the Superbowl! Never for a minute thought that it would really happen. You should see the city, schools are closed the day before and the day after, a new parade is scheduled win or lose, business are declaring a holiday, it's crazy around here! Homes are decorated with Saints logos, the newspapers have to print double batches, all the radio and tv stations can talk about nothing else. It is a big deal around here, kinda like winning the powerball, never really believing that it will happen to you but wishing all the time that it would and when it happens it just kind of puts you in a state of shock.
Whether we win or lose we are still happy to have gotten there!!
