The cabin looks like the "Coastal" model. In 85' the Offshore model was called a 248 and had a lower profile cabin with a smaller rectangular side port hole in the cuddy. The other 85' model that size was the Sportsman 248 with a higher profile cabin and a raised cockpit sole in the helm area. If it is an 85' model maybe it's the 228 and they're counting the pulpit as part of the length???

I thinks the price is a little high, but it has the "make offer". the 23 I posted a while back without a motor would probably be a better deal

Yep 248 sportsman which has the raised helm area and this one appears to have the 2 quarter berths in it as well as the V berth. In 86 they went to the 250 which was the same hull except the starboard side quarter berth was replaced with a encloased head and storage under the drivers feet. The COASTAL model had a smaller cabin area with just a V-berth in the front and a larger cockpit without the step-up helm.

And what year did they make the Offshore?...was it designated a 248 or 250?...or did it depend on year?...

I believe the OFFSHORE was the designation they used from 81-83 for what is now the COASTAL. I know the OFFSHORE was from the earlier years of the later JIM WYNNE hull's.

The offshores had a smaller cuddy and the helm area was pushed forward giving them a huge cockpit like a long bed pick-up truck.
Plus a lot of offshores were set up for twins.

That's the COASTAL version. Just has a small V-berth in it and the 2 seats, then a dance floor in back.
