Turn the Wayback machine back to my post about how I discovered some history online of how my late Uncle had served and was KIA aboard the USS Columbia during a Japanese kamikaze attack. After the war the ship was scrapped and a memorial was erected to honor her in her namesake city, Columbia SC.

Here steps in Mr Reelapeelin who goes above and beyond the call of duty to supply me with picture of the monument and best of all he takes the time to do this etching of my Uncles name off of the memorial plaque and send it to me via snail mail.

Glad to do it...but MJ's right...the real thanks go to John Pisarchuck and all the soldiers, sailors and airmen of the Greatest Generation

Just saw an email about a song dedicated to that generation, very cool.
But what struck me most about that email was that we are now losing over two thousand of these warriors a day.
When you see one say thanks, they are the reason we are able to be here and have our freedom today.

Thanks for the prop, BR...that was Monkey Butler's uncle on the plaque though...

That's what I like about this place...it's big enough to really exchange lots of valuable info and good times..but something like this would never happen on the bigger forums...since 2003, I've been watchin' guys on this board go outta their way to do things for each other they didn't have to...just one example, recently, Franco took a 50 mile drive to check out a V for me...he didn't have to...he stepped up and volunteered to do it...went over it THOROUGHLY and took and sent gobs of pictures and an honest evaluation of what he saw...

Good turns have their way of getting around...life works pretty good that way...

Yeah that's what I meant - Monkey's late uncle, not yours. I know it didn't sound like it the way I worded it.

I have to agree Reel, you don't get this type of thing in the other forums. That's what keeps me coming back. Keep up the good work MJ.

Good job REEL!

I agree, this is the best forum around. On the RV forum I frequent, people are all the time insulting each other.

Here, even when we have differences or disagree, we do it like gentlemen and I am proud to be a part of it.

As for Veterans, whether you were a clerk on a US base or died in combat in a foreign land, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving a part or all of your life for me and my family.
