It's also listed for $1700 in the ORLANDO section. Problem is though I believe this guy gave NYMACK a sobbing story and got the boat from him for free and turned around and put it up for sale just to make a buck.

NYMack, When did you post this for free? I must have missed it. I surely would have made my way down 95 south to I-4 in a second......oh well, I can't complain I got mine for free too..not nearly in that good of shape though.

ok, I couldn't resist and I called this guy to ask what the story was (at least on his side) about this boat. It looks like it's in great shape, and I would love to get it from him but he's still very high on the price for a free boat. He (dino) said he got it from a buddy of his that was moving out of state... Lowest he'd go is 1700 right now. Anyone know how good the trailer is on it? I mainly need a trailer for mine, but if I could get the price down i'd get it and just take the engine of of mine. Any thoughts anyone? I'm in a pinch with my trailer, but if I could work this guy down it would be a lot les "rebuild" work than I have to do to mine.

Ny when you gave it away was the floor in good shape? If I can ask, how long ago was that? Certainly don't want to offend anyone here if I do deal with this guy, but it would be nice to get it back in the family...

Not really. they are almost impossible to find parts for the actual sea-drive portion and almost all of them spent there whole lives in the salt and they are all getting pretty rotted out by now. It's best to replace em with a bracket and a regular outboard if the sea-drive needs any work.

Good thing is much like my setup you will have a full transom boat that you can put a bracket or platform on.
Effectively having a stronger transom and more space on deck.

ok, now I am getting confused. Is the bracket itself a part of the engine because according to the guy selling the boat it is a year 2000 engine...

It's a bracket that was made by OMC and specifically for their engines. The engines that went on the Sea Drive has a slightly different mount.
My understanding is that internally the engines were the same but used a different mount.
If it works many people are dealing with it until it dies as the sea drive parts are hard to come by.
Very likely that the Sea Drive was used and a repower occured in 2000 or a rebuild?
Here is a good side view picture of a sea drive.

So its possible to be a 2000 engine mounted on the drive?

I would think it's possible, but others with more experience can comment. Easiest wat to pinpoint would be to get serial # from engine and use the Johnson/Evinrude chart to identify year and specs.
Could have been a rebuild in 2000 though? In which case serial # won't say much for you.
