OK, so I cut out the deck and took off the wood much like skools did.
Deck is upside down in garage with all the wood scrapped off and sanded to make it as even as possible. (Picture Below) Now with respect to the wood which I'm going to put on it.
1. Should the wood be resin coated first on it's own and then resined in thickly to adhear to the floor?
2. Or should I be thickly resinning in the wood to the floor at once?
When I say thickly, I say it cause the floor is not exactly 100% flat. It had some nooks and cranies so hoping that by putting the resin thick it'll fill in any gaps and avoid leaving air pockets below.
Is there any special resin type that I should be considering? I'm thinking low viscosity so that it's easy to spread. I'm leaning towards option #2 from above with coating wood with resin and coating floor sparingly with resin and then laying the wood on it to adhear in one step. Hoping that this would make it adhear better but I may be wrong.
Then once all wood is done I can lay glass over it all.
Correct me or advise if you know the best way.
Another issue which i'll need to address when putting floor back on boat will be that i'm using 3/4 inch marine ply and it looks like Wellcraft originally used around 5/8 inch. I'm thinking of making up the difference on the top side when joining the two.
