Wondering if anyone else has ran into this... Went out today & upon leaving the dock the low oil horn sounded. Added a gallon { Wal-Fart brand}. Ran for about 3 hours, horn sounds again, ate another gallon.. Burned approx. 17 gal. of fuel. I just put new plugs in in tues. the old plugs looked to be burning normal, not loaded with oil. Seems to some a little much ate idle & cold starts. Other than that runs fine, no hesitation, 5600 RPM's flat out . Any suggestions?:head:

How do the plugs look now?? What motor?? Did you ck for leaks in the line?

50:1 = 1gal gas to 2.56 oz oil 17 gal x 2.56 = 43.5 oz of oil

First thing to check on that engine is for an air leak in the fuel line. The VRO pump pumps fuel and oil at the same time in the same pump, if air is being pumped instead of fuel it will still pump oil but not enough fuel.

O.K. I replaced the fuel line & primer bulb from the separator to the engine, doesn't seem to smoke as much but at WOT throttle the engine surges...never did this before replacing the line,. Fuel filter maybe??
