I saw a local add for this boat the other day. 76' cuddy, new trailer, hardtop, 225 Evinrude needs work. I talked to the owner briefly and got him to send me some pics.

Here's my deal...I need a new trailer and would love a hardtop. This is a one year old trailer (single axle is what I want) and the top looks pretty decent( although needs some repair). I would try to unload the rest, I don't think I could go wrong, what do ya'll think. From the pics it looks like a seadrive unit. The deck has been redone and the fuel tanks installed below decks. I thinks it at least warrents a look.

Wow! At first I thought this was the stolen boat that was posted this morning. 76' Cuddy with a hardtop, how many of those can there be with a hardtop, but the stolen boat was I/O?

Never seen a sliding hatch like that, with two rails and the hatch knotched out so it slides straight. After market idea ??, not a bad idea if so.
So your looking to just take the trailer and hardtop and sell the boat ?
What does teh engine need as the owner stated "Needs Work".

HaHaHa...Hammer...all the older model's slidin' hatches are like that ;D ...you spoiled w/ your update ;)...

LOVE that hull w/ that full transom ... even if the motors shot(I'd prefer it reely). that'd make a NICE PROJECT 8) ...

Sorry guys.....Asking $2500 . It sounds to me like some wiring on the motor burned up. He said the motor ran well before that. Yes, my thought was to get the trailer and top and resell the boat.

well the motor you have to asume is junk, but you have a nice full transom there for a bracket refit ;)

That trailer is about $2000 new? So what you are doing is getting the trailer & hard top for your money.

If the hull is as good as you say, and you clean it up some, you might get $1500 for your old trailer and shot motor & Hull.

I am sure the guy will go to $2000, that means you will be out of pocket $500 for the trailer & top, not to bad.

Offer him $1500 he doesn't have to know you just want a few things and then dump it.

You can always go up if you want the boat, but you can't go down! Offer $1500 Max $2000 is what I say!

Heck after you get it you just might like the idea of a full transom with bracket, repair it and sell yours ;)

Good Luck!

Thats a nice, but odd hardtop. Wonder if you can stick curtains on. Seems a bit to far forward, but anything is possible. Thats a nice trailer, Sounds like a good deal, plus you can get money back on it for selling the boat.
Go FOr it !!. ;D Where's it at Va. or Jersey ?

MJ,
That's my thought exactly.

Hammer,
My sliding hatch is like that too. I agree the top needs to be mounted a little further aft. Other than that, do you guys think it looks alright on that V. The boats here in Va. by the way. I need to get some more details on the boat and motor to make sure I don't buy something that is hard to get rid of.

Also, it looks to me like a top from an older 24 Albemarle.

trailer this area would be worth about $900 to $1200 Motor $300 to $500 not running and $900 to $1200 running. Hard top $400 to $600. Hull well if soild $500 to $700. looks like a fair deal if solid.

I think the motor is on a lifting plate so he can pick it straight up the transom then tilt. the midsection it has doesn't look like a sea drive.

I purchased the same trailer with rollers for $750.00 which was a few years old. That top "to me" does not look sturdy enough and will shake back and forth allot. If I'm looking at the pic correctly you can see a bend where the cross bars mount to the other bars (left side). I just think its too much weight with not enough support.

SR - I think you are right about the support issue. It does look bent now that you mention it.

I happened to notice it when I was trying to figure what that stuff was in the middle of those poles. I guess theres a reason all those hard top are built with such large piping.

it almost looks like a bimini top frame with a hardtop attached.

Still would like to take a look in person if possible
