I know :thre: but I was out last week and saw another V-20 at Atlantic Highlands boat launch....Maybe Willy has seen him before but he was an older guy with his wife who seemed to like to lounge around while her husband fished. She had a nice fluff lounge cushion on top of the cuddy. I am assuming to get around the rule of no riding on the bow he had a custom canvas of sorts that was snapped to the cap around the outside perimeter of the bow rail, up and over the rail and snapped back down to the top of the cuddy.

In essence he had enclosed the top of the cuddy. It had a little bit of a Sanford and Son look to it but it was a pretty good idea I guess....
I'm sure she doesnt ride up there while at cruising speed but for trolling around it did seem pretty secure. Not sure if he would still not get hassled by the Coast Guard or police if they should show chose to.

I chatted with him for a few minutes but I dont think English was his first language so he wasnt real chatty.

Maybe it was a "dodger" canvas... I think that's what they call it...

BGA maybe so...you typically only see those on center consoles.

I knew a picture would be better but the canvas didnt make a cover/shade...it only formed a wall so to speak from the top of the cuddy to the top of the bow rail....kind of converted it to a bow rider sort of.

Yep, I've only seen them on center consoles, but I figured maybe the guy retrofitted one ??? But per Wilson's response, it doesn't look like that's the case...

Indeed, it's hard to imagine without a pic.

My kids love to sit on the Bow when I am anchored (reason for my bow rails ) My friend insist I can have more boat if we simply cut down the bow or deck and lower 10 inches down glass it over and create in essence a bow rider with lots of storage below the cushions.
For over night sleeping install a complete enclosure and sleep on the floor ?
His argument is 100% fishing beast together with a pleasure craft !
For me it sounds exciting but I am always reluctant to drastically change the looks of the V, I have got to admit chicks look hot up on the bow also.

i was told by a fl marine patrol that my kids could ride on the bow, as long as their feet were in the cabin. it seems that the rule is open to a lot of on site judgement by the officer.
