I have a 1985 v20 center console with outboard bracket. The transom was redone when the bracket was installed by previous owner. The thru hulls for the in floor baitwell and cockpit drain were sealed. Currently the cockpit drains into the bilge. Want to change that by installing Rabuds to allow the drainage. There does not seem to be much room for error in placement to allow drainage but not be below waterline. Have any of you been through this? Anyone have good transom pictures with drains in place? Any help on positioning the holes is appreciated.

Some of the guys here may know Rabuds, But I don't...can you post pics or more info?...
I would think you load the boat as normal, then roll out w/pencil and mark the waterl-line on the hull..if you try it leaning outta the boat it will distort where the mark goes...it's almost gotta be just below floor level to drain...right?...sure won't drain above it...

Here is a picture of RABUDS installed on a boat in the gallery (little scupper next to the bracket) these look to me to be installed to high and above the deckline, which would not drain. They are basically a scupper with a ball stop to eliminate any backflow in installations like my V-20 where the transom water line will dip when not under way with weight, swell etc. I understand the load issues and marking, was hopeful that someone else has dealt with this and has some tips learned through their experience. In my area we take a lot of water spray while under way. I do not like the that the deck does not self bail. Want to fix that.

'85 shoulda had floor drains...are they there?...if so, you'll have to PIPE them to your new Rabuds if I remember the set-up correctly...
